March 8 2008, the nation's 12th General Election.

Surprising results

Some upsets, some pleasant outcome

But whatever it is, we as Malaysians must not shirk from our responsibilities to vote

Democracy in the truest sense begins with our participation..

Farid's Garden Wedding

Apart from the scorching heat and glaring sunlight when we arrived, the wedding was a beautiful one. It was held at Taman Metropolitan Batu, off Jalan Ipoh. The bride and groom were beaufully adorned and the singing of the wedding singer was superb..she could pull off siti nurhaliza's song fantastically! superb..

What was even more superb was of course the fact that many of our pep friends were there. coincidentally some of them are having some course in PJ starting tomorrow, it was a matter of coming down to KL a bit ealier to catch the wedding. it struck me with surprise that some of them dah ada baby and also are pregnant..how time flies considering it seems like yesterday we were together at OBS laughing and joking like the were no cares in the world! hehe..i do cling to old times occasionally with fierce sentamentality, wishing that i could turn back time.

the pics were taken with my new g9. really happy with it.

huhu.. ntah camne aku leh ter come across ur fotopages. leh bookmark kan tak ni? mana gmbr baby? Mon 21-Apr-2008 04:50

Gunung Dato Rembau Expedition

This expedition must have taken place about 6 months ago (I honestly cannot remember exactly). I finally got the chance to upload the pics this morning. It was my first climbing expedition (minus the OBS ones-those were not leaisurely at all, I can assure you! ) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course I was already panting after 15 minutes of climbing, and had it not been for face-saving motivation (cause I was so beriya-iya about the expedition before that) and also the eagerness to see the view at the top, I persevered, stopping at ever so many points along the way, draining all our water supply. Alas, we reached the top at about 12-ish, and what a rewarding climb it was. The beautiful scenery that greeted us was well worth it. We lepak2 up there for about 2 hours (simultaneously getting free tanning as well much to my chagrin) and finally reached the base back at about 5-ish. Thank you to Amie and his officemates for organising this expedition. Apaprently it was supposed to be a warm-up for ledang expedition 2 months later, which i doubt really took place. . maybe sometime next year the interest can be rekindled! perhaps there's just too much on everyone's plate right now.

Cameron Highlands and Fitri's wedding

Climbing up to Cameron Higlands

Being a Malaysian, one is expetected to have been up to Cameron Highlands at some point of one's life. Well, my point finally arrived during the long wesak-labour day break last month. Yes, at the age of 27, I finally set foot on the highlands. Although I wish we did spend the night there for a more leaisurely visit, I feel that the day trip we made was kind of adequate. How I wish though that the Sg Palas tea plantation was not closed that day. That would have made the trip even more complete.

Ok so we didnt really get to pick the strawberries (is it really as fun as displayed on the large billboards along the road??), but we did get into one farm full of ripe strawberries. We also went to shop for some vegetables and fruits at the nearby Kea Farm market. I paid RM6 for two stick of measley strawberries dipped in chocolate (yes Dato Siti you are not the only one) which I later regarded as not worth the money. We also visted the bee farm while debating whether or not we had to do the tax assessment for 2006/07, whose deadline happened to be on the very day. You see, I was always under the impression that my salary was too small to be taxed, totally forgetting that the minimum taxable amount includes also the yearly bonus. Aha, so you can imagine my panic when I learned that I had less than 6 hours to do my tax assessment, and there was no way I could so while I was still up there on the highlands.

We then headed back to Ipoh where I was staying at my in laws' place. We stopped by a Bharat tea plantation (same Bharat as the transformer manufacturer??) for a teapot of Bharat tea. I have never appreciated tea more! hehe..

So to cut short, I managed to file in my assessment before the10 pm deadline and for all that's worth I owe the government less than RM150 (I did not lie about my small salary).

I have also included in this entry some pics from Fitri's walimatul urus last Saturday (19/05) at Jengka. I went there with Mizan and Masrin. Fitri was very happy and bubbly..marriage seems to suit him well Semoga berbahagia ke anak cucu Fitri and Shuhaida!

My husband and I decided to take a short break from work to Bali, Indonesia. Air Asia was having one of their crazy sales, so it was an opportunity not to be missed!

We took a 4.40 pm flight from KL on the 29th March, and stayed on the exotic island till 31st March. I must say, I wish we had stayed longer. There's so much to explore. Bali is simply rich with culture, beautiful sceneries, lush gardens and interesting architecture. I certainly wouldn't mind going there again.

Some pics are shared here. Taken using our new Fujifilm Finepix F40. Excellent camera even at high ISO setting.

Sentamentality often brought my memory to the good old PEP days..when every day was filled with nothing but joy and laughter and occasional homework (negligible!). From the orientation, to the OBS, to the engineering and management module, life was carefree and breezy..Some pictures of some of the wonderful PEP people I had the joy of becoming friends with

Date: 26th-27th August 2006
Venue: A Famosa, Malacca

For 1.5 day, the TNBRians alongside beloved spouses and family members gathered at the A Famosa Resort to experience the annual Family Day, dubbed as the TNBR Shared Value Enhancement Programme. The highlight was perhaps the TNBR Appreciation Dinner held on the night of 26th, where a variety of food, entertainment and good company combined to make it a merry affair. The telematch and water activities on the next day were much awaited and duly enjoyed by all---kids and adult alike!
